I have the chance to buy a JD 770 model 4wd with 70loader for 11,800 from a local dealer. It has 350hrs and is a 1994. Is this a good quality tractor? Where can I find the specs or some literaturen it. I need it for snow removal mainly although I will brush hog my field with it. I can't afford more than 12,000 at this time. I was going to try it for a year or two and maybe trade up if I find it is to small.

I have a JD870 with loader, finish mower. Wonderful tractor with no problems. I haven't seen a negative post about the 770/870/970/1070 tractors yet. I use mine for mowing, snow removal, dirt moving, etc. The specs on the 770 are 25 engine hp/20 PTO hp/2100 lbs with MFWD. Hope this helps. ....

I have owned a JD-670 4wd with a model 60 front end loader for a year now. Had about 300 hours on it when I got it. Its only 18 hp, but do I ever love it. Very manuveralbe. Good for what I need. From all I have read, all of the Yanmar/JD's are bullet proof as long as you work them within their capabilities, ie don't try to use the front end loader like you would a D9 CAT!!
The price seems about right, although prices vary with geography. I gave just over 10K for mine. Enjoy!! ....

The 770 is a great tractor. I have not heard anything negative about them as far as durability, reliability and longevity. I just purchased a 98 4wd, mid pto, Great Bend 260 loader and 513 cutter with 62 hrs. I'm looking forward to using it for many years. It is made by Yanmar to Deere specs. 25 hp at the flywheel. The 70 loader adds 646 lbs. The other post had all the specs. The 4wd has p/s std. as well as 2 stage clutch for live rear pto. ....

I bought a brand new 770 4wd in 1994 with loader, mid mower, and 513 rotory cutter. I love it. Has not missed a beat since I purchased it. Each one of the attachments get used a lot with no problems either. The tractor performs great with each one of them. As far as the price, I paid $18000.00 for eveything I listed. The specs listed in the other responses are right on. You won't be disappointed.
